It All Happens On The Deck

We have coffee, eat, and watch hummingbirds on the deck.
Not to mention we enjoy the gazillion plants I have growing in planters.
Shelley and Clovis lounge and sun bathe on it.
Shelley destroyed a sweet potato vine in a planter yesterday.
But we are not talking about that right now.

I have said it before and it is worth saying again Petunias take the heat.
When they get leggy cut them back and they will bloom again.

Look at this sweet baby....

....teething on Joe.

Sheldon Cooper Shepherd thinks the chaise is his.
Imagine that ya'll.

My old man kitty.
Clovis is still not tolerating Shelley much.

happy friday

  2. Great shots Olive -- Shelly looks like WAY too much fun -- old man kitty's don't usually appreciate that, lol. I totally agree with you about the petunias -- I have lots of them growing because before too long our heat will start taking it's toll on the bloomers - my petunias will hold out longer than any of the other annuals. Too bad about your sweet potato vine :)

    Have a great weekend!

    Blessings!

  4. I have to thank-you very much for telling about the petunias!!!! I am good with plants but for the life of me, I never could figure out what to do once they bloomed. I used to just pull the flower heads off and that wasn't working. You are a lifesaver!

  9. Thanks for the tip on the petunias...I nearly lost mine the other day as the heat just zapped the moisture out of the pot. It has been HOT here! Your deck looks so comfy, I can tell Shelley and Clovis love to join you out there! :)

  11. Shelley looks almost as leggy as a petunia...he grows fast!! :)

Petunias are great...mine might be drowned, I don't know. We've had tons of rain back home. Fortunately, we aren't experiencing the flooding that Duluth has had. I can't wait to see my garden!!

  14. Love your pictures of Shelley and Clovis - Clovis has a wonderful look of disdain, but then young Shelley could melt even the hardest heart so perhaps they'll be good friends before too long.

  27. Well I hope your right about the petunias coming back because tonight "she" whacked that all back. Yep. They did look pretty strung out and unhealthy. Now they look dead. Yep, that sure was an improvement.

Well I must say that Clovis is looking fine, although I do see where his ear "got it". Poor guy. Although he looks comfortable and no longer anxious about going outside. No doubt that's because of Shelley who assured Clovis that anything that bothered him would be eaten. Like the sweet potato vine. But we're not going to talk about that. Nope we're not.

Instead I'll just sit here and purr out my innocence....
