Kitchen Island Styling

I have been moving cookbooks and pottery around the kitchen island. In addition the pink camellia bush in the flower garden finally bloomed and floating a bloom in a pretty dish is easy styling. I cannot grow peonies in our heat but camellias thrive here.

Is that not a lovely pink?

Joe and I should be out in the early morning cold at garage sales by the time this posts providing I can manage to auto-post in the right month. Yesterday I found a vintage Easter basket at an estate sale and a couple of other items that have some vintage appeal. For a minute I could not think what I bought-I know a Turkey Platter (brown transferware from Japan). I am still trying to get myself together my friends.

What are you doing this weekend? Do tell. Whatever you do be a "good egg" as my book suggests.

  4. The camellia is a lovely shape and colour! I live in peony country, so will look forward to them. As for today, I'm doing the things that didn't get down this week; it's good puttering, though.

  8. Your little camellia beats a peony any day. I think. Peonies get millions of aunts embedded in the bloom, come in the house and then start looking for the way out. I've never been personally acquainted with a camellia. It sure is pretty.

  10. I'd envy you that camellia but, in a few short months, I'll have vases filled with peonies. I do envy you having things in bloom in March! The island looks very pretty with it's new additions.

  13. Your camellia is just beautiful, a lovely shade of pink. I like playing with my island, too, but so much stays the same...just belongs there.

I have never done a scheduled post, my luck it would appear next year!
