One quick image of stacked ironstone on the buffet.
I will show the rest later.
I have news.
I bought a kitchen island yesterday at The Rusty Gate in Tennille, Georgia.
It is handcrafted and is made from old windows.
Joe is driving it here now.
It has been measured and will fit in our space but I am afraid
it may be a visually too large for our humble kitchen.
I will know soon.
Plus we have Bob and Sue arriving any minute for the weekend.
We will put them to work.
I guess I will feed them first.
happy weekend
Olive
I will have to remember to have a project the next time I have company! I hope your island works!!

ReplyDeletesounds like a fun - working weekend. enjoy! can't wait to see what you do. my mom jokes with me all the time saying i have lots of counter space. don't think i have room for an island too. but they always look so eye appealing in the fix-them-up magazines. mom got a kitchen re-do recently so she has a bit more room for work now .... but not tons. ha. ha!! ReplyDeleteThe island sounds fabulous...can't wait to see it. I wanted one for so long and everyone said my kitchen was too small, yet I had a big open space in the middle. Well, I have one and love it. Yes, we sometimes have to squeeze by one another, but tough!!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
XO,
Jane
The stacked ironstone is so pretty. Ironstone is something I wish I had started collecting years ago but think it's too late to now so I admire everyone else's and dream on. You have us all intrigued by this island built of windows.
ReplyDeleteSo is it for the old house? Can't wait ~ you have a great eye, I'm sure it will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to see the island made out of windows!

It's always a bit unnerving
ReplyDeleteto purchase something big
like your island when you
aren't 100% sure it's going
to work. Believe me, I've
done it a few times!! I hope
for your sake, and Joe's, that
it will blend in perfectly. It
sounds really unique and YOU!
Enjoy your company and this
long weekend!
