Camellias At The Yellow House

I was busily packing the Mini and noticed them in the flower garden.
Round, pudgy, and wonderfully pink camellias.

I used an Antique Filter on the above image from Photoscape.

Embossing the camellia shows the delicate details so well.

We also planted a red camellia last year that will bloom soon.
I hope it's red.
I really must start writing all our plants down in a garden journal.

The camellias are not blooming early, they are supposed to bloom in winter.
All the other flowers here in the Deep South are blooming early.

  2. Beautiful flower Olive. I am so bad at gardening and have very little knowledge of flowers. This is a super shot.

  11. Breathtaking! I adore the this flower for brightening up the winter months.

There is a large red one (bush) on the next street over. I need to get over there and do some shooting.

  13. I love Camellias Olive and we have two bushes that usually bloom in January. My overzealous BIL while doing some yard work to help me out "trimmed" (read scalped) them. He didn't know what they were and that it takes years sometimes to get great blooms. My fault for not saying they were off limits. The first 8 years we lived here, they didn't bloom and then suddenly they did and I realized what precious cargo I had in the backyard. So I am glad to be able to enjoy the pictures of yours, Olive.
