Cabins, A Wedding, Wild Rhododendron

The cabins of Cades Cove and a wedding in a field.
It was unexpected to witness a wedding but it was delightful seeing it.
I was not able to get a close shot and did not want to take away from their moment so it is a far away shot.

I have used Gritty Effect on some of these images.
Not that the cabins are not rustic to begin with.

Our own CC peeking out of the porch.
I think having a porch was a luxury for a resident of Cades Cove.

Do you see the wedding?
I tried not to disturb them but it was a charming setting for a wedding.

  2. We visited Cades Cove when I was a little girl. Unfortunately, the only thing I remember about that stop was the car sickness I was suffering!!!! lol I had that a lot on road trips in the Smoky Mountains... Love to see these pics. Sweet.

  8. Olive my husband and I were in Cades Cove about 2 weeks ago (we love it there)and saw a wedding as well, how funny if you and I were there at the same time. I always have the feeling I'm "home" when we are there if that makes sense. Love your pictures and your blog. Hope you have a great day. :)

  19. How sweet to stumble upon such a scene. This looks like the area where my nephew and his wife were married. It was similar anyway, and what a gorgeous setting. Love all the gritty shots of the cabins. Sigh. Would be nice to be wandering around a place like this.

  21. Those are some amazing photos Olive. Great photography on the beautiful old wood and home. Since I don't see any building near the wedding party I suppose the bride had to walk aways...
    You have a lovely family.

  24. Beautiful. I enjoyed the wedding scene very much. It reminds me of hiking one fall and coming across a wedding rehersal near an old barn on our trail. Unexpected and pleasant sights.

  25. Get Out! You were there! One of our best family vacations included Cade's Cove - I adored it! We rode horses - my husband's was so small his feet almost touched the ground and my baby girl had THE BIGGEST horse there - the gentlest! Lots of fun - we also stayed at a Georgia National Park - Cloudland Canyon - it is beautiful. Adored your pictures - brought back memories,
    Kathy
