Grace Cottage

Grace Cottage has been lovingly restored by two friends of ours. 

They have filled it with colonial antiques. 

It is brimming with charm, wit, and country inspiration.

Let's look at the exterior and cottage gardens.

The owners are incredibly talented. 

She is a brilliant decorator and gardener.

 He is incredibly skilled at restoration.

They are the nicest people too.

There is a fountain in front and out back.

A star.

The front flower bed details are quite well thought out. 

Y'all know I love the cloche.

Garden Blooms

Phlox, or I have always called it thrift, has finally made it in my garden. 

I have lost several in our heat.

Sweet William

This snapdragon has bloomed all winter and quadrupled in size.

A chickadee has built a nest in this old birdhouse. 

We can observe her from the kitchen window.

The Knockout Roses will be blooming next week.

Bridal Veil Spirea is one of my favorite bushes. 

It holds many childhood memories for me. 

This one is still small and difficult to photograph but I am overjoyed 

to see these mini white clouds of flowers.

The aloe vera in the twig wreath made it through the winter in the lawn mower shed. 

I have been outside for about three hours this morning combating weeds.

 It is a fine day. Today's high will be 80 degrees. 

Perfect weather to sit on the deck, read, and listen to bird song.

Barn Door Fun

Last Sunday Joe and I had time, after taking CC to college, to ride around the countryside of middle Georgia and take some barn photos.

I was standing in tall weeds in the center of a ditch taking photos and people stopped and asked if we were okay several times.

I was zooming in on a particular red barn that was too far away but I did get the door.

The barn door as it is, no color edits.

I wonder if the home owner would sell us this bird house which is leaning on it's side behind the barn?

They would probably ask how we know it's there and I would awkwardly say  I had seen it with my camera lens from the ditch out back.

We do not want to get shot!
