~~Seven Questions~~
Rachel from * French Farmhouse 425 *tagged me with these questions.
* Where do you currently live?
We live in a very old house in middle Georgia and we have another house seventy miles away near the Savannah River.
*Are you living in your dream home? Or are you dreaming of the home you will live in someday?
Our second home, the yellow house, was purchased with the idea of what we wanted in a vacation home and later a permanent home.
It has a stone fireplace, a woodstove, a beautiful large yard, a hot-tub, and a great neighborhood. It is smaller than the old house and I can keep it clean.
Maintaining the large old house is cost intensive and it is just too big for us.
It is a fading southern antebellum house that needs a tremendous amount of work.
*Where do you draw most of your inspiration from for your home decor?
I gather inspiration from books, magazines, friends, and now blogs. I do not like new furniture.
*If you could change something about yourself what would you change?
I would have studied history instead of science and nursing. But no regrets, nursing was very good to me.
*What is your biggest accomplishment?
I have two!
1.My daughter, CC, she has grown into a fine and Godly young lady. She is my magnum opus.
2. A happy and fulfilling marriage with my darling Joe.
*What do you love the most about your family?
The simple things.
Coffee and a homemade breakfast with all three of us there. Just talking and being together. Then going out to garage sales on Saturday or to church on Sunday.
*What do you think your family loves the most about you?
Possibly my twisted sense of humor. Joe likes my cooking.
There is one unmentioned member of the family who is vastly important and he lives his life sitting near me or on me.
The C-Cat. I love him to pieces. To say he is grouchy would be an understatement.
He is jealous of the laptop for obvious reasons.
Instead of tagging other bloggers please tell me something unusual about yourself in the comments.

How fun to have a dream house for a getaway. Really interesting facts I learned about you. My joke this month has been that I can add to my resume that I am an amazing interior designer - of trailers at hunting camps!! What an accomplishment! My husband and son like what I did though. laurie

ReplyDeleteHi Olive,
ReplyDeleteGreat post and so nice to learn more about you.
Something about me.....I have pretty much come full circle in terms of where I have lived. Grew up in Kansas and moved to Ohio right out of college. Got married and moved with my family to Wisconsin, then to Minnesota, then to California and finally back to the midwest where I currently live 40 miles from my parents and my childhood home. As Dorothy would say "There's no place like home".
Have a great week.
Jane
First I would have to agree...our children are our masterpieces!
ReplyDeleteSecond something unusual about me? Hmmm...that I am actually quite shy and nervous in crowds.
Debbie
It's fun to know you better, Olive. As far as something unusual about me, I think that the fact that I met my Husband and married him in less than 3 months is pretty shocking to many. We have been happily married for 20...however, if my kids do the same: I kill them!!!! LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Olive!

C-Cat does look a little grumpy.
ReplyDeleteOne thing you don't know about me is that I am an incredibly picky eater and will only eat things that I ate as a child.
Something unusual about me? I have all the same answers that you do, Olive, above!!! Except that our current house is our dream house, and I would have studied the same thing that I did (career choice). But everything else, from the hubby, the daughter, all of it are things we have in common!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder I follow your blog so avidly!
