Halloween Yard Inspiration

There are some scary folks driving around these days.

I ran across this ghoul driven pick up truck on Highway 129 North before Athens Georgia.
I was nearly ran over by a log truck taking these images.
Spiders real or not will be my undoing.
A lot of people paint hay bales but the spider legs are a creepy yet fun touch.

That's some mighty big Halloween yard inspiration for your weekend viewing
whilst I am visiting with CC in the mountains.

CC and I are having a lovely time.
Last night we talked for a long time, ate grapes, and tiramisu in our hotel room.
The leaves here in the north Georgia mountains are not as pretty as usual because of our drought.
I will attempt some pictures of the Pottery Barn Outlet because I know y'all enjoyed them last time.

Happy Halloween

One Cloche Two Ways

Little Wilton candy holders are in the cloche.
I found them in a thrift store, new, for fifty-five cents.

Eek!
 Boo!

Orange slices were a penny at Publix (with a $10.00 purchase) on Wednesday.
I filled the same small cloche with them.

One cloche two ways.
I spent .56 cents to fill it for Halloween.

Despite my lovely bargains you can fill
a cloche for very little money too.
Orange slices are $1.67 a bag usually.
Candy cups are quite reasonable as well.
happy fall

Halloween In The Living Room

Ghosts, candy corn and pumpkins have found
their way to the coffee table.
The rather ghostly appearance of the sofa is thanks to Shelley Puppy.
He thinks all sofas belong to him so I threw this old chenille spread over it.

Ghost candles

Ghost cupcakes that I will never make.

I wonder how long the candy will last in the glass jar?

Southern Fall Porch Inspiration

Joe and I visited these porches last year.
They are in a couple of beautiful neighborhoods, in South Carolina,
on the banks of the Savannah River.
The first porch is my favorite.
It is ordinary yet lovely in it's simplicity.

Mysteries and The Mail

We drive by this little house often and why I like it is a mystery.
I have a fabulous amount of disdain for cobwebs as we have so many real ones at our old house.

It is cute...okay I said it.

Now we do not know about you but we can barely get our house decorated for Christmas so how these folks accomplished this is frankly amazing.
Amazing and very cute yet again.

The mail has been wonderfully exciting lately. This pin arrived from Jan at Gracie's Cottage just because she thought of me. That is so sweet.

These lovelies also arrived in the mail from Gail at Faithfulness Farm. I won her giveaway. She made the towels and they are long and generous in size.

Both these bloggers are friends of mine and I am proud to know them and follow their excellent blogs. Thanks bunches to both of you.

Orange Heat For Halloween

Halloween is in full force in the dining room.
Orange has turned up it's heat here.
In the living room all is white but not here.

The copper cauldron is from last year but everything else we found this summer and fall.
We bought the Hemingway Hurricanes by Southern Living at Home at a garage sale Saturday.
They were new in the box for ten dollars each.
I was happy to pay that price as I know how expensive they originally were.
I really should sell them but I am keeping them.

Could these candles be any cuter?
I do not think so.

The polka dot creatures are called Kiddo Jack and Kiddo Kat and came from the Tuesday Morning store. I like them a lot because I almost never buy holiday decor from non-thrift stores.
Everything else including the copper cauldron is from second hand stores or garage sales.

This is how the table looked before we found the glass hurricanes.

This is the other side of the cauldron and our pumpkin filled cloches.

Do you decorate with orange for fall and/or Halloween?

Mr. Smirk

I have decided to name my old concrete pumpkin.

He is now Mr. Smirk.

A fitting moniker don't you think?

I believe I showed him last year but he is worth another look and hey now he has a name.
He is a tad sinister.
Smirk,smirk.

Clovis the C-Cat had to get in the image.
Photo hog.

This is our yellow house for those new to the blog.

The side door wreath, all garage sale items.
There is a rusty jack o' lantern face in it that is difficult to see and we keep thinking there is someone at the door.

We do not have elaborate outside fall decorations but we do have fun as usual and we are thrifty.
The two wreaths cost less than six dollars for both. I have had Mr. Smirk for maybe twenty or more years.

Goodbye Little One

STAY CALM

STAY ALIVE

STAY HUMAN

halloween fall 069-1

I watched a mindless zombie movie and that tag line above kept playing at the bottom of AMC’s screen.

I giggled every time.

And thought of my little zombie.

After today he is retired until next year.

Does a zombie look better under glass?

Goodbye little zombie.
