Pumpkin Front Door

Happy Friday

 Leslie Ann from Fairhope Supply Co. said you could see my

turquoise bike from Kansas. 

Well here is my pumpkin door.

Can it be seen from Kansas too?

Not only did I use a spray can of paint (on the bike) I actually used 

a paint brush and painted two doors.

 I realize it is a lot to take in. 

Sit down if you must.

There are orange/pumpkin tones in our stone. 

While Joe was recovering from his surgery we had the house professionally washed. 

Prior to that we had a new roof installed.

We have been busy at home maintenance.

The paint is Valspar's Roasted Squash.

Pottery Barn Outlet Fall

Pottery Barn Outlet last weekend was all decked out for fall. 

Pumpkins orange and mercury glass were plentiful.

Lots of images ahead.

Go get a drink and drink in the PB.

This rug is gorgeous.

Baskets in all shapes and sizes.

The back of the store is chock full of furniture and has a wall of rugs. 

I wanted this leather chair while Joe objected to its $899 price tag.

 He could not be convinced. 

There would have been a %20 discount from the outlet mall.

I will find a leather chair. 

Yes I will.

Broome Closet Booths {CeCe Caldwell Visits}

Hello friends.

The Broome Closet booths at Ridge Antiques

 in Ridge Spring, South Carolina have been more exciting than usual. 

The French gentlemen's chest above, painted by Beth, with CeCe Caldwell paint sold to an unexpected person. 

CeCe Caldwell came into the shop and bought it. 

She also purchased other furniture pieces from us and throughout the store.

 She is taking them back to Arizona where she has a store.

Beth and I were quite happy about that.

Edit: Beth tells me the French gentlemen's chest is painted in Young Kansas Wheat.

The twig wreaths are handmade by my brother in law from his Georgia creek vines.

We have a good bit of transferware.

We love it.

Don't you?

Our garden booth has many fall items. 

We love pumpkins.

We are  restocking the booths today and tomorrow. 

The Ridge Spring merchants are having a sidewalk sale on Saturday.

We truly appreciate all our customers. 

It is always thrilling to have sales.

Thank you all for your many well wishes for Joe.

 He returned to work yesterday.

Two Weekend Surprises

I got the best phone call on Friday, Bob, from Ridge Antiques called 

and said that a blogger friend had been shopping our booth and had insisted he call me.

 He said "It was Diane from Lavender Dreams." Yay.

Now Bob does not read blogs and likely thinks they are not real so for Diane to arrive and stand there and tell him to call me is about eight kinds of cool. Diane is the sweetest to stop into our booth and shop on her way to the mountains. Please visit her fun and energetic blog here.

Thanks bunches Diane and maybe one day we can go shopping together.

The second surprising blog related event that happened this weekend

 was I ran into an old friend "D" at church this morning. 

She's an R.N. {like me} who is now enjoying retirement. 

And she reads Olive Out.

She said she now had time to surf the net and had just came across Olive Out one day and had been reading it for a while. At first she did not realize I was the author of the blog. She said she loved the content and for me to keep writing and taking pictures. I remember when her child was small and she remembers CC when she was tiny. It was a big encouragement for me to see her. 

You just never know who is reading your blog.

I am thankful for these two wonderful friends that blessed me and encouraged me this weekend.

I am also thankful for those of you who are continually faithful to comment here even when I am not so faithful to post on any kind of regular schedule.

Come back on Tuesday when I am posting about one of Joe's best finds ever.

Fall: Yellow House Exterior

We have no porch to speak of which is decidedly non southern so two mums, a real pumpkin, and my old concrete pumpkin is the extent of our fall decor for the exterior of the yellow house.  That thick grass is monkey grass (lilirope). We cut it annually in February.

Mr. Smirk, the old concrete pumpkin will make an appearance, every fall,

 as long as we can lift him. 

He is solid and heavy.

Someone wanted to help her mama. 

Outside, outside she's yelling. 

Loudly.

Madison Market

The Madison Market in Madison, Georgia had just had a delivery of pumpkins.

The pumpkins were not arranged but sure were pretty piled up like that.

The Madison Market is full of European and American antiques. 

I did not take inside images as it was very dark.

A vintage bike greeted us out front.

This is a tremendous fairy garden. 

Fairy city perhaps?

General Sherman did not burn the city of Madison in his march through the south. Therefore the city has an abundance of stately southern homes and darling cottages. Madison has one of the largest historic districts in the state of Georgia. The downtown is splendid.

 If you are near Madison do visit. 

This was my first visit thanks to The Talented B.

Cloche, Clocks, Pumpkins

I have been fiddling with my two white pumpkins.

I have sold the remaining stash of fall items.

The orange has left the building.

Joe and I picked up this cloche with some gift cards we had.

You know I needed another cloche.

Forgive my blurry images please.

 It began raining the very minute I started taking

photos.

 This may be my only nod to fall. 

However I am into vintage clocks. 

Now I have those two under the glass.

You know I need a few more.

The creamer is part of my collection of Old Britain Castles transferware.

I have collected twenty pieces thus far.

 I found two pieces last weekend.

Southern Fall Porches

For those of you who like big Victorian houses this is a good  example. 

These images were taken last fall.

This screened porch is gorgeous and attached to this house. 

Please pinch me for not getting a long shot of the house. 

I believe I was trying to stay out of the road.

Across the street is this classic facade.

 I am partial to these urns.

Magnificent

I have no other images of this house save this one of the lone urn of lavender mums. 

Note the lace curtains.

 These houses are not in the southern vernacular but are 

located in Middle Georgia.

 I like them and thought you might enjoy them.

We southerners do like big ole urns though.

If I cannot lift an urn I want to buy it.

In Olive Out news I am having a wee minor surgical procedure tomorrow.

 I found out today I will likely need more surgery soon.

 There is a life lesson in here. I think it is-never retire at age forty five.
