The space behind the sofa.
What to do with it is always the question.
We want to maintain the walking space so no table here.
So in comes some goodies. You know a little of this and that.
Vintage lanterns in a basket, my own childhood chair and hat boxes you have seen before.
At the last minute I placed the tole tray to the left.
I hope Debra from Common Ground sees it because she has quite the collection of black tole trays.

All my test results were negative and while not feeling 100% I am much better.
Thank you for thinking of me.
I did get some work done earlier today.

I like it - great vignette.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful quilt and that precious little chippy chair. I have a blue lantern in my lanai! They are fun, too!

It's a small world, Olive. We used that same tray to carry dishes and food between the kitchen to the picnic table outdoors. It did look like that in the beginning, in the '50's. I think mom got it as a supermarket or bank promo. Yours looks quite nice.
ReplyDeleteLove the little chair...I love vignettes behind furniture!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're feeling better, Olive! Always fun to use special treasures for a vignette! Yours have a lot of charm in back of your sofa.

I love Black toile chairs! I collect them at the Estate Sales that I frequent. Looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteGood news. Cute grouping.
ReplyDeleteGreat layering, Olive! I like that you added height with the quilt! It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your creativity at Potpourri Friday!
So glad your tests were negative and I hope you are feeling 100% soon.
ReplyDeleteI like what you've done with the space behind the sofa. Love the little chair, quilt and the blue lanterns.
Very neat idea. Love that quilt especially.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute alternative. I love the little chair and the quilt. My sofa backs up to a wall so my dilema is what to put above the sofa? Have a wonderful weekend and I hope your feeling like your old self again soon. Patty
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling a bit better and able to put together a lovely vignette! I'm afraid my Maeve cat would have that tray knocked over in a minute. ~ Maureen

love the quilt & the lanterns. they pop with color. (:
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your results and in and negative -- praying your 100% SOON. I am loving the assemblage behind your sofa -- makes me wish my room was large enough to float the sofa :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Blessings!

Behind the sofa, can be a tough one when there is little space. Things directly on the floor can be harder to keep dust off. A problem for me anyway.
ReplyDeleteA very narrow table or bench could easily be made from simple 1x6 or 1x8 pine, fir, oak or old found wood. You could measure the largest item, like the little chair and you would know how much space you have to go with.
But it's a lovely display! Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Happy Weekend~
What a great behind the sofa vignette and I was so pleased about your test results.
ReplyDeleteI've been MIA, sorry to hear you've been sick! Glad you're better!!! LOVE your new lamp. And this sweet arrangement is very entertaining to look at. Love that side view too. Looks like you solved your behind the sofa problem. Take care dear!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better real soon dear Olive. I am so behind with visiting and trying so hard to catch up today! Big Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteGlad your test results were normal, methinks you sometimes overdo it in that hot Georgia sun. and I DID spy your great tole tray. Have you looked for a skinny sofa table? bet you'll find one, love that quilt on the back of the sofa!! I've been laughing at your post on Clovis and Shelley! xoxo
