We had some new neighbor friends for supper last night. Joe and I really enjoy cooking for others at the yellow house.
The menu:
roast beef with Vidalia onions, potatoes, and carrots
steamed broccoli
wheat rolls
cheesecake (brought by our friends)
I placed this odd ivy we have growing in the yard in the window seat in an iron stone pitcher. This ivy does not climb it mounds. I will use it at Christmas, I think, for decorating.
On the kitchen sink, in my Granny’s Lenox vase, are some butterfly bush blooms. We have excellent light in this window and I spend a good amount of time in this spot so why not have flowers?
We found a beachy white and cream rattan sofa and chair at a garage sale yesterday. The sofa cushions are cream colored. I wanted the chair. Joe wanted the sofa. They are from the 1960’s and are in pretty good shape. A little chippy but the blue and white stripe cushions on the chair are just perfect with my rug. Plus I like chippy. Now I must rethink the entire furniture layout of the yellow house. Fun.
That C-Cat checked the chair out and wormed his way into the picture.
Happy Sunday Friends!
grace surrounds us
