The green chippy chair has to be in my top ten thrifty finds.
I paid three dollars for it.
And ran with it.
The McCoy planter is Joe's mother's.
We found it, intact, buried in the yard at our old house.
I posted about it a while back and my astute readers identified it as McCoy.
It is unmarked.
Happy Sunday my astute friends
joy and peace
Olive
Hi Olive. Wow! What a bargain. I would have run with that chair as well! Love the colour. I'm really into all this shabby chic furniture now! I do envy you all your Thrift finds, I must admit! Enjoy your salmon & salad (re. your comment on my post today!).
ReplyDeleteOH! **LOVE** This is just beautiful...wonderful finds!
ReplyDeleteKermit would approve. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the chippy color on the chair that wore naturally and we all try to achieve with paint. That bowl was buried? Wow.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet green chair! Is that the wood showing through on the seat edge or old red paint? There were two old kitchen windsor chairs left in the smokehouse when we bought this place. I adore them. They are both in my bedroom with beloved books on them. I wouldn't dream of painting over their chippy green paint.
ReplyDeleteSuch a neat green chair. Is this the way you found it or have you painted it!! I like how it is now with a touch of red coming through. It appears to be fairly old with the seat slats made the way they are!! A fern would be lovely sitting in the chair under a tree!
ReplyDeleteThat chair is just how I found it. I do not think it has been painted to look that way-it is natural patina that comes with age.
DeleteYour chair is the perfect color. I just love it. What a great find for it being buried in the yard. It looks like perfect condition:)
ReplyDeleteOh I love both of them The chair is fantastic and the Mc Coy bowl is wonderful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThat chair is so darling. The green is the perfect green. And of course, I covet your McCoy piece. Beautiful.

Great chair. And I love that you found the bowl in the back yard! I have found many old bottles through the year by digging in my dirt.

ReplyDeletewonderful! Isn't it odd, to have found that buried in the yard! We found an old Redwing crock buried back behind our house. What fun. Love the green chair too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty, chippy chair, Olive! I love it pictured with the bowl on it and your large bread board in the background.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your chippy chair! I have one or two myself. A red one found at Goodwill for a few dollars - I don't recall exactly how much - that graces one of my flower beds, and the other, I think I paid a whole dollar for! It's a beautiful shade of green - a little more minty than yours - solid oak underneath the paint and just lovely! It sits in my hallway and I just love it! Happy hunting the next time you go thrifting!
ReplyDeleteMan, I'd keep digging in that yard!
ReplyDeleteI think the chair is one of my favorite things too!
I love those two items put together. One perfect shade of green with another perfect shade of green. I'm going to paint a picture frame this afternoon, so I may just have to mix up some green paint now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shades of green, Olive. So glad the bowl survived.
ReplyDeleteIt's no wonder that sweet chair is one of your favorite finds. It's perfect with the McCoy planter, a beautiful buried treasure.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love..... The green on both pieces is so pretty. :-) And what a bargain on the chair.
ReplyDeleteLove those greens! My dad lives in a house that is 101 years old. He's found all kinds of goodies in the ground, in the walls, and in the floor. Mysteries!

Linda
