Broome Closet Booths {CeCe Caldwell Visits}

Hello friends.

The Broome Closet booths at Ridge Antiques

 in Ridge Spring, South Carolina have been more exciting than usual. 

The French gentlemen's chest above, painted by Beth, with CeCe Caldwell paint sold to an unexpected person. 

CeCe Caldwell came into the shop and bought it. 

She also purchased other furniture pieces from us and throughout the store.

 She is taking them back to Arizona where she has a store.

Beth and I were quite happy about that.

Edit: Beth tells me the French gentlemen's chest is painted in Young Kansas Wheat.

The twig wreaths are handmade by my brother in law from his Georgia creek vines.

We have a good bit of transferware.

We love it.

Our garden booth has many fall items. 

We love pumpkins.

We are  restocking the booths today and tomorrow. 

The Ridge Spring merchants are having a sidewalk sale on Saturday.

We truly appreciate all our customers. 

It is always thrilling to have sales.

Thank you all for your many well wishes for Joe.

 He returned to work yesterday.

Windswept Ridge

Hello everyone.

I have missed all of you.

 I am popping in to share a party and some news.

Windswept Ridge is the home of the former owners of Ridge Antiques 

where we have our four booths. 

They sold the business and are moving. 

They gave a dealer and customer appreciation party on Sunday. 

I thought you might enjoy seeing the house and some of the antiques inside.

They love Victorian antiques.

The staircase is tall and narrow. Yikes.

This is a gorgeous Oriental piece of art. 

They once sold Oriental antiques.

The food was spectacular. 

That punch had a kick as well as being pretty.

In Olive Out news the summer has got away from me in a hundred and fifty ways. Thank you all for checking on us. Joe is having a total hip replacement on July 29th. It was more than a shock to him that he needed this surgery. Joe has never had surgery or ever spent a day in hospital. 

Please pray for Joe this Tuesday.

Because of his surgery I will be away from blogging for a while longer. 

Do know I miss all of you. 

I can be found on Instagram almost daily.

Scalloped Pedestal

How about those sweet scallops?

Where did I find it?

At a junk shop. 

It was kind of beat up. 

I have put stain on it and polished it.

I really don't know if this is a plant stand or a pedestal.

 No matter. 

I like it and it is an old piece.

I hope all of you are well. I know I have not been around the past few days.

I have been literally driving for days from this and that appointment. It turns out my ear which I mentioned three months ago has not healed. I will be having surgery soon. I have been having headaches and a fairly constant earache. It will be good to resolve this problem.

Broome Closet Booths At Ridge Antiques

Hey ya'll.

How are you doing on this cold Monday?

 I realize many of you are hunkered down in snow, ice, and cold that I cannot imagine. 

I pray you are safe and warm.

Since I last showed you our Broome Closet Booths we have acquired a third booth. 

We are busy. And blessed.

Beth painted this French Country coffee table. 

I love it.

Our back booth is chock full of vintage mirrors. 

You know I must have some cloches.

My back is aching from moving this large old dining table last Saturday.

 I feel like I have been moving furniture for days. 

That's because I have been moving furniture for days:}

Barn Door Tall Tale

This barn door has a story of a junking woman and a fine persistent man to tell. 

I do apologize for my grainy iPhone images. 

I  had seen the seven foot tall barn door with it's wonderful intact rusty hinges six days before and hesitated to buy it. I left the store thinking about it. I nearly called, Steve, the owner of the store on Monday last to give him a credit card number. But I held off. I had never purchased a barn door before. That gives one reason to think.

Then Donna @Distressed Donna Down Home (her post today is about our day) and I went to pick up some items from Warrenton, Georgia. On the way back we stopped by Steve's store, Uncle Junks, and the barn door was still there. I bought it. Wee. 

That was merely the beginning of the adventure. Joe was to pick the barn door up on the way to the yellow house. I called Steve but he forgot and closed early. Joe, not being one to give up, found someone to give loose directions to Steve's house. Joe drives far out into the countryside in the dark on a dirt road. He stops and asks an elderly couple, sitting on a porch, if he was going the right way. They didn't know but they get their grandson to assist in the search. 

The young man hops in Joe's truck. The two of them go to another house. It was the wrong house. Again. But the dear lady there made some phone calls for Joe. Small towns are cool. Yes? Eventually they located Steve's house. I am sure he was surprised by Joe's persistence but he drove back to the store and loaded the barn door into Joe's truck.

You see yet another reason why I married Joe.

I may or may not be banned from Steve's store.

Lastly, this is the five foot long star made from barn wood I picked up in Warrenton @ Mimi T's. It was too large to fit in the Jeep so we tied it to the roof, mostly, with ribbon. Joe looked at that ribbon and raised his eyebrows. I simply said "girl power."

Ridge Antiques Open House

Open House in Ridge Spring, South Carolina, last Sunday, was a wonderful success. 

The street was full of people. 

The town markets the event well. 

 Ridge Antiques, where our two booths are, was busy.

We had a wide assortment of food and wine.

Chocolate wine too. 

The Talented B serves it every year.

 This rusty sleigh of mine sold right away.

Mary Ann's cabinet is the center of the first room and is not for sale I am sad to say.

The primitive farm table the food is on had been sold. 

Mary Ann convinced the young couple to leave it on hold until after Open House.

 I am totally gone over the chippy blue mantel.

Madison Market

The Madison Market in Madison, Georgia had just had a delivery of pumpkins.

The pumpkins were not arranged but sure were pretty piled up like that.

The Madison Market is full of European and American antiques. 

I did not take inside images as it was very dark.

A vintage bike greeted us out front.

This is a tremendous fairy garden. 

Fairy city perhaps?

General Sherman did not burn the city of Madison in his march through the south. Therefore the city has an abundance of stately southern homes and darling cottages. Madison has one of the largest historic districts in the state of Georgia. The downtown is splendid.

 If you are near Madison do visit. 

This was my first visit thanks to The Talented B. 

 I will be going back soon.
